Provincial School Attendance Counsellor (PSAC)
Hanca Chang is our new Provincial School Attendance Counsellor.
Hanca Chang was appointed Provincial School Attendance Counsellor by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario on March 22, 2017. Hanca initially joined the Ministry of Education in 2000. She has since led and contributed to diverse policy and program initiatives across the ministry. She is currently an Education Officer (bilingual) in the Leadership, Collaboration and Governance Branch. Previously, she has held the role of Coordinator in the Private Schools and International Education Branch, Education Officer (bilingual) in the Teaching Policy and Standards Branch, and Community Outreach Officer (bilingual) in the Independent Learning Centre. At the start of her career in the Ontario Public Service (OPS), Hanca worked for the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Outside of the OPS, Hanca has held leadership roles at the Ontario College Teachers as Manager of Evaluation Services and at the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada as Coordinator of Elementary-Secondary Programs.
Hanca holds a master’s degree in public administration from Queen’s University, where she also earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She lives in Toronto with her husband and three children.
